1978 Inter-Ac League Track Champions – first GA track championship since 1905

Won the 1600m relay race at the Penn Relays at University of Pennsylvania with a winning time of 3:27.7.  The members of the relay team were Claude Harrison ’80, Tim Jordan ’78, David King ’80, and Alex Talmadge ’78

The track team set a school record in the 400m relay race at the Penn Relays with a time of 43.8 seconds.  The members of the relay team were David King ’80, Gene Leoni ’78, Chip Rocco ’78, and Chris Williams ’79.

The following GA records were established in 1978

• 100m Dash, time of 9.8 seconds - David King ‘80
• High Jump, 6’ 5”  – Craig Wollman ‘78
• 110m High Hurdles, time of 14.6 seconds  – Gene Leoni ‘78
• Long Jump, 21ft, 9.5 inches  – Gene Leoni ‘78
• Discus, 131 ft, ½ inch – Gene Leoni ‘78
